Willie Lee King was born August 23, 1930 in Cocoa Florida. On August 23, 1951 Willie King was united with her late husband Richard A. King. Through Richards Air Force assignmets they traveld from Cocoa to Japan, South Dakota, England, Montana and Georgia. They gave birth at every Air Force Base along their journey. In 1965 she became employed as a cook for the Head Start Program. Through encouragement of the program Director she obtained her AA Degree. Her passion for the education and welfare of children and families inspired her to continue to strive for excellence and became a Head Teacher, Parent Involvement Coordinator and Social Service Coordinator during her employment with the Head Start Program. Willie King is survived by her children, Deborah Clark, Richard (Rose) King, Steven (Leslie) King, Valerie (Eddie) Johnson, Catherine King, Carol (Stanley) Roper, Jonathan (Mona) King; 17 Grand Children, 23 Great Grand Children; four sisters; one sister-in-law; one brother and one brother-in-law. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
