Thomas David McGill

Thomas David McGill, known as TD, was born on October 5, 1935 in Eldred, Pennsylvania. He passed away on May 7, 2024.

The son of Arthur and Audra McGill, he was one of their seven children. TD is survived by his brother John and sister Betty Ann. TD is survived by an abundance of nephews, nieces, cousins, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

From his first marriage, TD is survived by his four sons, Thomas Jr, Stephen, Michael, and John. From his second marriage, TD is survived by his wife Joan and her daughter Jenae.

TD retired from a career with Boeing in 1994. His career in Electrical and Aerospace Engineering had him all over the world, but he retired in Merritt Island, Florida from his love with the Apollo Missions at Cape Canaveral.

TD served on the Board of Brevard County Library System for many years. The computer room at the Merritt Island Library was named in his honor in 2020.

TD was an avid fisherman and boat captain. He often would reminisce about his travels up and down the East Coast and the New York Harbor, and his trips to the Bahamas and the Florida Keys.

TD was known for his kind heart and generosity. He supported many charitable organizations, especially those dealing with hunger and children.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brevard County Library, an organization very important to TD.
