Thomas Allen Stellwag

October 22, 1942 – April 13, 2021

His journey began on October 22,1942 in Muncie, Indiana.
Tom grew up with 2 brothers. He was more of a mother than a brother to Mike and Joe.
In 1960, Tom enlisted in the Navy. He served his country with honor for 4 years during the Vietnam War. Tom was a true patriot. He loved this country. While in the Navy he apprenticed as a Tool and Die Machinist. Tom was brilliant with numbers and could make or repair anything. In 1983, he moved his family to Florida and worked for General Dynamics and ULA at the Kennedy Space Center. He held the Vice President position of the Machinist Local Union for many years. Tom stood up for what was right and always looked out for his co-workers. He was a leader and well respected by all who knew him.
Tom loved aviation. He was a commercial/instrument rated pilot and had a passion for Aerospace. He always went out of his way to look skyward for every launch. He was very proud to have played a role in the Cassini mission that explored Saturn. His hobbies included, scuba diving, motorcycling, boating, traveling and fishing. He loved being outdoors. Sitting at home on his back-porch swing was almost medicinal for him. He spent many hours in the swing with his wife sipping coffee while his kids and grandkids came and went.
Tom is survived by; his wife, Bonnie Rochelle Stellwag; his children, Thomas Allen Stellwag, Jenny Lynn Falanga, Ronald Dean Stellwag and David Gilbert Stellwag.
Tom was a loving husband to his wife, Bonnie. They were married for 57 years. Theirs was a true love story.
He was so proud that his kids acquired successful careers and are thriving. Family was very important to him.
At family get togethers Tom would be the one snapping pictures of everyone. The family would sometimes complain about him taking so many pictures, but later in life were so grateful that he took the time to capture all the great memories. Tom always put family and friends first. He made sure that everyone around him was taken care of and would be the first to offer to do something if there was a need.
Tom loved his grandchildren very much. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. They were his pride and joy. He was a great dad, but even better Papa.

His life was a blessing,
His memory a treasure.
He is loved beyond words,
And missed beyond measure.
