Obituary

Phillip (Phil) John Kegley who resided in Titusville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 57. He was born on July 10, 1965, in Red Bank, NJ, to Felix Kegley and the late Linda (Cavell) Kegley and grew up in Titusville, FL.

He moved to Titusville, FL with his parents when he was 6 years old, moved back to NJ for a short time then moved back to Titusville. Phil spent his younger days playing baseball for Mim’s Little League, BMX racing which he took 1st place, riding go carts and worked as an installer for several local air conditioning companies. Phil enjoyed taking his daughter Tabitha bush hogging in his Chevy Blazer, watching his son Kyle play All Star Baseball, fixing Four-wheelers with his son Brandon, watching western movies, going to the river and hanging out at the beach until his health deteriorated and he became disabled.

Phil was world-renowned for his lack of patience, not holding back his opinion and a knack for telling it like it is but was deeply loved by his family.

He is survived by his father Felix (Betty) Kegley, brother Chris (partner Tanya) Kegley, sister Tammy (James) Dean; Adrienne (domestic partner of 30+ years) Anderson, daughter Tabitha Kegley, sons Kyle (partner Denise) Kegley and Brandon Kegley. He leaves behind two grandsons; Landon and Jeffery.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
