Paul Jan Wenz, 78, passed away peacefully at Hannah’s Home Assisted Living in Palm Bay, Florida on Tuesday afternoon, November 15, 2022.

Born April 10, 1944 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Jan was a proud graduate of Saint Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky, and Rhode Island College where he earned his master’s degree in education. After retiring from high school teaching, Jan moved to Satellite Beach, Florida to be closer to his father.

Jan grew to love Florida’s Space Coast and its populous veterans community. He was always thrilled to watch the beauty of a live rocket launch off the Cape.

Jan was also a Thoroughbred horse owner and trainer, as well as a passionate fan of his alma mater’s basketball team, the Bellarmine Knights, who rose to become a Division 1 Conference Champion this year!

Jan leaves behind his son, Brian Patrick and wife Melissa; son Paul Robert and wife Nancy; grandchildren Lily, Meghan, Dylan, Ashley, and Brady; Paul and Brian’s wonderful mom, Mary Lou Wenz. Jan was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dorothy “Dot” and Joseph Wenz.

The Wenz family would like to thank the wonderful staff and new friends at Harmony Senior Advisors, Hannah’s Home, and St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care for the amazing support and expert care they provided Jan over the last four months.
