Patrick Paul Conners, age 61, of Satellite Beach, Florida passed away at his home surrounded by his wife and children on March 8, 2023, after a sudden battle with cancer. He lived a big life, loved voraciously, and always found a way to make his dreams come true. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

Patrick was born on April 7, 1961, in Vicenza, Italy where his father was stationed with the US. Army. He would spend his formative years living between Vicenza and Izmir, Turkey prior to moving to the United States. These experiences helped to instill a sense of adventure and wanderlust throughout his life. He returned once more to Italy with his bride to share with her many of the beautiful people and places of his childhood. He had hoped to return to Turkey once again to experience the vibrant culture and Turkish cuisine.

In 1979, Patrick graduated from Menchville High School in Newport News, Virginia where he completed an apprenticeship in Carpentry. He also studied at Christopher Newport University for two years where he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. Later as a homeowner, his carpentry skills would serve him and his family well as he enthusiastically pursued many home building and renovation projects throughout his lifetime.

A passion for cars and the gift of gab, led Patrick to a career in sales. At the age of 26, he achieved the distinction of becoming the youngest General Manager of a Porsche Dealership in American history. He later was the Founder and President of Bluegrass Woods, Inc. In 2005, Patrick diligently began working in the insurance industry. He worked as an Insurance Adjuster/Catastrophe Adjuster, Insurance Appraiser, and ended his career as a Reserve Analyst. During this time, he also founded two additional businesses.

Always an avid outdoorsman, Patrick enjoyed hiking, camping, and deer hunting. He had a deep love and appreciation for the forest at Laurel Fork, Virginia, Humpback Rock in Blue Ridge Mountains, and his Camp Heavenly on the Jackson River. In the woods, Patrick felt most at peace where he could be one with nature, relax, and reflect on his life. He had often remarked that being in the woods is where he felt closest to God. Patrick was also a visionary. It was his mission to improve and customize everything to his liking from homes, vehicles, campers, trailers, and even bicycles. He designed and built a family home in Bath Co. Virginia and through the years had remodeled six additional family homes and one cabin.

An ardent family man, Patrick’s wife and children were his greatest treasures. As a devoted husband, Patrick moved his family from Florida to Virginia to care for his wife’s aging father. Very much a selfless man, Patrick made sure family came first. “I’m only here to make you happy!” was his favorite saying. As a devoted father, his goal was to ensure that his children knew that they were loved beyond measure. His latest joy was being a grandfather “nonno” to his first grandchild.

In late 2022, Patrick, his wife, and youngest son spent time between their homes in Satellite Beach and Santa Marianita, Ecuador. While in Ecuador, Patrick’s days were filled with relaxing by the pool, long walks on the beach collecting sea glass, enjoying cultural events, and making many new friends. Always on the move, he was already planning his next great adventure to explore South America and had just completed rebuilding a special land cruiser for overlanding.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father Philip E. Conners and his father in law Victor H. Gaines. He is survived by his beloved wife Victoria Gaines Conners, his children Philip Reid Conners of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, Patrick Preston Conners and wife Ashley M.
