Diane Lynn Orr, age 76, resident of Satellite Beach, Florida
and former resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed
peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023 of natural causes.
Diane was born on August 5, 1947 in Tacoma Washington,
to Kennet B. Stratton and Vivian L. Kobernat. Diane met
Bill Orr in High School and they were married on January
23, 1971. After the death of Bill’s parents at the young age
of 20, Bill and Diane were called upon to raise Bill’s three
youngest brothers in order to keep the family together. As
such, they will be deeply missed by many.
As an Air Force wife, Diane was accustomed to moving
every few years for the first part of their marriage. After
Bill’s retirement from the services, they made their home
in Idaho Falls for 35 years and later returned to Satellite
Beach, Florida.
Diane enjoyed hobbies such as cake making and sewing.
She was very skilled at wire work and jewelry making and
she shared her expertise by teaching these skills to others.
She also was known for her Shetland Sheepdogs which she
bred for years.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, her husband
Bill, and brother-in-law, Robert Landis Orr. She is
survived by her daughter Kelly Orr, and Bill’s three
brothers, Charlie (Pamela) Orr, Owen Orr, and Lloyd
(Aniela) Orr with their children Anna Orr and Davis Orr.
Services held at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in
Florida on March 23, 2023 at 10:00 am.
