William Arthur Whiting, Jr.
William (Bill) Arthur Whiting, Jr., age 62, died of Covid complications on Friday, September 17, 2021, in Kindred Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sheila Whiting, of 25 years of Cocoa; his son David Whiting and significant other Claudia in Netherlands; mother Christa Stevens, of Cocoa; sister Robin and brother-in-law James Kolb, Jr. of Frederick, Maryland; sister Anna and brother-in-law William Powell of Cocoa; brother Daniel and sister-in-law Laurie Whiting, of Merritt Island. He is also survived by niece Jaime and nephew Jake Stephenson, of Rockledge; nephew James and niece Bidney Kolb III, of Wasilla, Alaska; nephew Sean Beauchemin of Arizona, nephew Russell and niece Heather King, of Port St. John. He is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father William Whiting, Sr.

Bill was born on November 19, 1958 in Endicott, NY, to parents Christa and Bill Whiting Sr. He graduated from Cocoa High School in 1976. He worked as a carpet layer for many years, as a school crossing guard, and worked at Eastern State golf course. He found the calling of God and studied to be a pastor in his fifties. He was ordained as a Baptist pastor on April 27, 2014. As he turned his life towards God, he found peace and acceptance in several smaller Baptist churches in Brevard County.
Bill was a great family man and a loving father. Bill and Sheila were married in October 1995.
Bill was competitive in bowling for the majority of his life. He enjoyed basketball, football, baseball, wrestling, and many fantasy football and baseball leagues. He enjoyed singing, bowling, preaching, cooking, and all sports related activities. His family and friends will always remember him with a competitive nature. He was a kind, caring, and loving person and very family oriented.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, on September 23, 2021 at 4:00pm at Island Community Church at 1000 N Banana River Dr. Merritt Island, FL 32952. Pastor Paul Esposito will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill Whiting’s life.
