Wesley Davis Mahr, resident of Titusville, FL, formerly of Bowie, MD, left his earthly body and entered God’s kingdom on November 13, 2023 surrounded by his wife and daughters.

He was born March 2, 1963 to Aldine Harris and Ernest Ronald Mahr in Bowie, MD. He was the youngest of six siblings and immensely enjoyed playing baseball, adventuring in Bowie, and spending time with his grandmother Ida Aldine Harris. He graduated from Bowie High School and then attended University of Maryland followed by Bowie State University where he completed his bachelor’s degree. During his long trek through undergraduate education, he began his career as a United States Capitol Police officer and married his loving wife Kelly Pavel in 1988.

He continued to serve the U.S. Capitol Police for 35 years, reaching the rank of Inspector prior to retiring to his Florida residence in January of 2021. During his time with the US. Capitol Police, he met several presidents, assisted with numerous inaugurations, and the planning of multiple events on Capitol Hill. Wes also obtained his Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University during this time, a fact that he was very proud of.

The Mahr family grew in size in April 1992 and August 1996 with the birth of his two daughters, Mackenzie and Bailey. There were many things that Wes loved including sweet treats (cinnamon buns at the top of the list), blasting music and playing music trivia, and riding motorcycles to name a few – but there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his wife and daughters. Family trips to Myrtle Beach, game nights playing rummy 500, family dinners or movie nights, these are the things he lived for.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ida Aldine Harris, mother and father, Aldine Harris and Ernest Ronald Mahr, and his nephew Andrew Mahr. He is survived by his six siblings, Michael Mahr and his wife Elizabeth, Roderick Mahr and his wife Marjorie, Kevin Mahr and his wife Missy, Susan St. Jean and her husband Mark, and Timothy Mahr as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife Kelly Mahr and daughters Mackenzie Mahr and Bailey Gowl and her husband Melvin.
