Thomas James Porter, 75, of Raleigh NC passed away on 7/5/2022 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was a well-loved husband, father, uncle, brother, and grandfather. Thomas was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 19, 1946.
Tom grew up in Brooklyn New York and later raised his family in Saugerties, NY. He relocated to Raleigh, NC and opened his cabinet shop. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the occasional dancing in the street. In Thomas’ younger years he was a mechanic in his own shop. After being a mechanic, he went back to his roots of carpentry. He was truly a woodworking craftsman.
Tom is predeceased by his son, Thomas James Porter JR. and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roseanna (Bolly), his two daughters Victoria Porter Jenkins of Cocoa FL, Jacqueline Porter Ryan and her husband Shawn Ryan of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren (Clay, Katlyn, Megan, Bobby, Gabrielle, Shawn Jr. and Kyle), eight great-grandchildren(Adrien, Adryana, Jayda, Dominic, Meah, Ariel, Juniper and Jamie), loving nieces, nephews and many friends.
Among his many strong traits we will all miss Tom’s undeniably funny sense of humor.
