On Saturday, January 14th, Thomas Allen Cannon Sr. passed away, surrounded by family, at the age of
65. Thomas was born to Dorothea and Douglas C Cannon III in Norfolk, VA in June 1957. Thomas was
married to Jeannette, whom he had met in high school, and they were inseparable through 46 years of
marriage. Thomas was a master of multiple trades and an entrepreneur. He operated a successful
plumbing company for many years before moving on to a career serving a variety of school districts as a
distinguished, award winning, and beloved bus driver & bus driving instructor.
Thomas was decidedly curious about the nature of the universe, discussing theories about physics and
the fundamental building blocks of reality. He had a passion for mechanics and enjoyed dirt bike racing;
a sport he participated in competitively during much of his youth and as a hobby throughout adulthood.
More than anything, Thomas enjoyed making his family happy and secure. He worked hard to ensure
they had comfortable lives, never missing a chance to liven the mood with a witty remark or silly
moment of physical comedy. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; their children, Thomas Jr., Kristen,
Michael, daughter-in-laws Laine and Nichole; grandchildren, Thomas III, Joseph, Abigael, and Olivia;
Mother Dorothea and siblings, Douglass IV, Melinda, and Cornelia.
A memorial will be held at his home in Merritt Island, FL on February 4th, and an additional memorial
and casting ceremony in Fallbrook, CA to be scheduled for a later date.
