Tami Jo Brannock, 59, of Merritt Island, passed away peacefully at Viera Health and Rehab on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

On April 4, 1962, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Tami Jo was born to Chesley & Dale Chasteen, and grew up with three siblings. She began her life journey at a young age, was the second of three generations to graduate from MIHS, then went on to enlist into the United States Air Force, in 1980, serving her country for nearly 12 years. During her enlistment, while stationed at Bitburg Air Force Base, in the Eifel Region of Bitburg, Germany, she found the love of her life in her husband, Bo. After saying “I do” on September 21, 1991, it wasn’t long before returning back home to her mother, brothers and sister on Merritt Island, in 1995, with her husband and family.

Tami was a giving person, who fostered children in the community along with her three children. She was a Dart League Champion, on Merritt Island, as well. When she began working at Mr. Auto Insurance, in 2002, and earned her 220 FL Property & Casualty Insurance Agent License, she served many people in her community, as a proud and exceptional insurance agent, for over a decade. Many people knew her from this role, as well, and the woman she was; with a kind heart and soul, Tami would open her home to many friends, family and children in her life, who will all miss her dearly. She’s often referred to as “my safe place”, because you were always safe and welcome with her.

Preceded by her father, Chesley Chasteen, her mother, Dale Gilroy, and her brother, Donnie Chasteen. Tami Jo is survived by her husband, Kavin “Bo” Brannock, her sister, Sandra Hotary, brother in law, Mark, her brother, Bruce L. Chasteen, her sister in law, Mary Ellen Fernandez Chasteen, her nephews: Stephen Horeluk, Travis, Trevor and Tanner Chasteen; her children: daughter, Tifini Nicole McKeever, son, Joshua Franks, son, Jeremy Brannock and daughter in law, Lauryn Brannock; and her grandchildren: Kaitlyn Michelle Derso, Jacob Hamilton and Tiara Songer.
