SALVATORE FRANK RIPOSTA, 85, passed away September 11, 2017 in Merritt Island, Florida.  He was born June 21st, 1932 in Kearny, New Jersey to Antonio and Angelina (Liguori) Riposta. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-53, decorated with a KOREAN SERVICE MEDAL, TWO BRONZE SERVICE STAR MEDALS, NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL AND A UNITED NATIONS SERVICE MEDAL.

He is predeceased by both parents; his brothers, Joseph, Sammy, Gerard, Louis, Frank; and two sisters, Virginia Pietoso and Phyllis Russo; his wife Rosalie, the mother of his children.  He is survived by his son, Louis Riposta, daughter Lesley Riposta Sholar and her husband Ricky, all of Merritt Island; grandchildren, Roslyn Stoeckman of Las Vegas Neveda, Destini Riposta of Orlando Fl, Shelby Stoeckman of Merritt Island Fl, and a VERY proud great Grandpa to Penelope Rae Cifuentes of Las Vegas Nevada.

Sal was always interested in sports – especially boxing and football, which he participated in both over the years. He moved from Las Vegas to Merritt Island in 2011 to live with and be cared for by his daughter, her husband Ricky, grandchildren, and family. As his health declined his family became full time caregivers. Sal also known as Rocky ate well, slept well, and loved his donuts.

The Lord has taken him home to be reunited with his parents, brothers, and sisters along with his beautiful wife Rosalie Joyce Goldberg Riposta.
