Ruth S. Hancock, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 30th, 2019. She leaves hers sons, Gary and Randy, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Born in Franklin, North Carolina, the son of Judson and Maude Smith, she was a long time resident of Charlotte, North Carolina. She met her husband Gene there, and they were married in 1950.
She and Gene oversaw a large children’s ministry at their local church for a number of years where her kindness and sweet disposition brought great joy and comfort to all. She always maintained fond memories of her childhood in rural North Carolina. Mrs. Hancock enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy and spending time with her husband and family.
A dedicated wife and mother, she retired from Roche Bio-Medical Laboratories and relocated to Florida with her husband in 1991.
