Ronald “Ron” Barry Macie, 83, passed away on November 6, 2023, in Rockledge, Florida. He was born on September 9, 1940, in Troy, New York, United States. Ron was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ron led a remarkable life, filled with cherished memories and meaningful connections. He was a man of unwavering dedication, both in his personal and professional endeavors.

Throughout his 43-year career with the Bayer Company, Ron exemplified hard work and perseverance. Starting as a laborer, he steadily climbed the ranks to become an industrial maintenance mechanic supervisor, overseeing a team of employees. Ron’s commitment to his craft and his ability to lead by example earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ron possessed a deep passion for the arts. His creative spirit found expression in various forms, from woodworking and wood carving to stained glass, painting, and drawing. His workshop became a sanctuary where he honed his skills and brought his artistic visions to life. Ron’s ingenuity and resourcefulness were unmatched, earning him the endearing nickname “Mr. Fix It” from his loving wife. There was no challenge too great for him to overcome, as he possessed an extraordinary ability to repair and restore anything that came his way. Ron’s zest for life extended beyond his workshop. He possessed an adventurous soul and a love for travel. Over the course of 42 years of marriage, Ron and his beloved wife embarked on nearly 30 cruises, exploring the vast beauty of the world. From the idyllic shores of the Bahamas and the Caribbean to the enchanting wonders of Italy, Germany, and Egypt, they created enduring memories together. Ron also reveled in the majesty of nature, journeying to national parks such as Yellowstone and reveling in their awe-inspiring landscapes.

A devoted family man, Ron found immense joy in the company of his loved ones. He was actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, attending their afterschool activities with unwavering support and pride. Ron’s presence was a constant source of love and guidance, and he instilled in them a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. Whether it was teaching them the intricacies of drawing, stained glass, woodworking, or sharing cherished moments playing board and card games, Ron’s love knew no bounds. He delighted in spoiling his loved ones with his favorite chewy chocolate chip cookies and indulging them with Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew. Ron’s infectious spirit and unwavering support extended to his circle of friends, always standing by their side through thick and thin.

In his retirement, Ron found solace in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed leisurely days by the pool, frequent trips to the movies, and savoring meals at his favorite restaurants, including “Five Guys,” “Olive Garden,” “Perkins,” and the “Grecian Café.” However, nothing compared to the warmth and love he felt when savoring his wife’s home-cooked meals.

Ron leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Macie, his daughter Dawn Macie, his son Ronald Macie Jr., his daughter Ronella White, his granddaughter Samantha Larrimore and 12 others, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Janice Shelby and his brother Dwayne Speanburgh.
Ronald Barry Macie will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering dedication, artistic talents, and boundless love for his family and friends will forever be remembered. May his soul find eternal peace as his memory lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
