Ronald Albert Austin Sr. was born January 23, 1950 in Lansing, Michigan to Albert & Betty Austin. Graduating from Holt High in 1969, he joined the Air Force & was stationed in Alaska in 1974 where he met his wife Clairese Yuhasz. Married in 1975, they came to Florida in 1993, leaving a life of heavy equipment operation and owning/operating Turnagain Union 76 Service Station to serving the community with a horse rescue, and providing therapeutic riding for the disabled, and horse drawn vehicle rides since 2000. Ron was always a very thoughtful, caring and passionate man who was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed an ice cold Cherry Coke & joy ride in his 1967 Corvette or on horseback. Ron is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 46 years Clairese, his Sons Ronald Jr., Camron & Drake and two granddaughters Natalie & Alyce, his Parson Russell Terrier Bela II and his 1967 Yellow Corvette Sting-Ray.

I dealt with Paul the owner he was very helpful. He assisted in the forms and contacted a few people to help with my fathers passing. They are all very compassionate and caring. It is a nice atmosphere and very professional in how they run the business. They did not try to push me towards anything or any package. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
