Roland Lucien Bisson was born July 2, 1941 in Woonsocket, RI and died peacefully surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer on March 7, 2024 in Cocoa Beach, FL. He approached life as he loved to play games–he played to win.

Roland is survived by his wife Gloria (Blanchet) Bisson, brother Armand Bisson & sister Jeanne Joyal, sons Rene (Sandy) Bisson and David (Sheila) Bisson, grandchildren Christina (Jonathon) Waldon, Jonathan (Cassie) Bisson, Matthew Bisson & Rachel Bisson, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Marie LaPlume Bisson and Alcée Bisson, siblings Raymond Bisson and Muriel LeBeau.

Roland graduated from Mount St. Charles High School in Woonsocket, RI in 1959. He then joined the Air Force where he served for 5 years domestically and abroad as a weather systems technician. He returned from overseas in 1962 and reconnected with Gloria, where he won her hand in marriage on May 14, 1966 and this May they would have celebrated 58 happy years together.

He had a long, varied career of 35 years with IBM where he worked his way up from being a computer repair technician, system engineer, to senior market support specialist. He served many years as a Boy Scout volunteer. He took pride in joining his sons on many camping trips and was proud to see both of his sons and grandsons attain the rank of Eagle Scout.

His hobbies included completing very difficult jigsaw puzzles, numerous home improvement projects, and genealogy. He traced his family tree back to the late 1500’s in France. He always put family first.
