ROBERT JOSEPH BACHMANN
Rockledge, Fl. Robert (Bob) Bachmann, age 78, passed away peacefully at home, June 26, 2018 with his family by his side. Bob was born January 21, 1940, in Doylestown, Pa. to the late Robert P. and Beatrice Higgins Bachmann.
Bob was an avid fisherman his entire life, starting as a young boy growing up in Pa. and continuing after moving to Florida. While living in the Keys he attained his boat Captain’s license for guide fishing and charter boats. He enjoyed fly fishing along with wrapping rods and tying fishing flies. He was also a respected wallpaper installer and a member of the National Guild of Professional Wallpaper Hangers. Bob was a friend to many and will be missed by all, especially his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, willingness to help others, his love of animals, especially his German Shepherd “Max” and his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife: Merle; two sons: Robert Joseph II of Atlanta, Ga.; and Christopher, husband of Judy, of Parker, Colorado; two granddaughters: Olivia and Lauren Bachmann of Parker, Co.; one sister: Holly (Dave) Bockes of Wytheville, Va.; sister-in-law: Joanna (Frank) Pierce; brother-in-law: Leslie (Connie) Shreiner, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother: Rhett Bachmann; two nieces: Jeanne S. (Stephon) Ginter and Sheryl Pierce.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Catholic Church, 5301 N. Atlantic Ave, Cocoa Beach, Fl. Burial will be private at the discretion of the family.
The family requests instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society or the SPCA.
