Robert B. Lakeman

Merritt Island, FL

Bob Lakeman left us on 7/30/14 to join his parents Frank and Eleanor Lakeman, twin brother Richard Lakeman, and baby sister Phyllis Lakeman.

He was born 8/18/1934 in McGraw, NY, graduated from high school there and joined the USAF during the Korean War era.

After a varied career in construction, as a barber and an insurance agent he attended college and graduated with degree in drafting. He retired as a design draftsman from the Harris Corp.

Bob was a man of many interests including a general ham radio license, fly fishing, tying his own flies, camping, blue grass music, civil war buff and several collections of historical memorabilia.

He will be remembered by his wife of 55 years, Elly Lakeman

·        2 sons: Jack Lakeman and Gwen Robertson, Frank and Vicky Lakeman

·        2 daughters: Janis and Kevin Halcomb, Kai Lakeman

·        6 grandsons: Daniel and Shannon Corack, Michael Corack, Frank Lakeman Jr., Taylor Lakeman, Ryan Lakeman and Andrew Lakeman

·        2 grand daughters: Alicia and Paul Slansky and Lendzi Lakeman

·        2 step grand daughters: Ana Harnack and Amy Cook

·        3 great grand daughters:  Samantha Slansky, Emily Corack and Julia Corack

·        His brother Frank Lakeman

·        His sister Fay Yourn

·        Several nieces and nephews and

·        Ham radio buddies Joe P. and Bob C.

As he wished, his family will privately celebrate his life.  Interment will be at the veterans cemetery in Florida at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane society.
