I think about you every day and wish you were still with us. It pains me to know that you are gone grandpa, but I will always love you and will work hard each day to make sure that I am making you proud. From the heavens or beyond. Love you bunches and wish you were here to make some jokes.

Dick Pitts was one of the most intelligent, nicest, and toughest individuals that I have ever met. I learned so much about work and life in general from our conversations. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.

Condolences to the Pitts family. I worked and traveled with “Dick” in the mid-1990s. He was one of my all time favorites. A true visionary with the follow through to make his ideas reality. He introduced & demonstrated technologies for air traffic safety in the 1990’s that are now enhancing safety for all fliers. Remembering his sense of humor and especially his laugh made me smile today. I wish the family peace with loving memories of him.

I had the privilege of working with Dick back in the VSCS days. I always admired the depth and breadth of his technical knowledge as well as his people skills. Dick was truly someone I looked up to and learned from. I remember once, just after I transferred to his group from Software Engineering, he called me into to office. I thought for sure I was in for a chewing out! Instead he told me that he put me in for a raise! Dick was a hell of a nice guy that touched many lives. I will always remember him fondly.

I worked with Dick 1976-1980 as part of the VANDAL Program team. As System Engineer, he was a key factor in our success that included being the first program at Harris to ever achieve a 100% award fee. Thanks for the memory!
