Patrick M. Sharkey, son, brother, uncle, carpenter, surfer, fisherman, and collector of friends died on Friday, January 30th, 2015 in Cocoa Beach, FL due to complications following a brain tumor.

Pat was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 1st, 1964 to James and Sarah Sharkey and was surrounded in love throughout his life by his eleven brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

His humble, warm, and welcoming smile drew others to him. While his huge heart, selfless actions, and unconditional love kept them close.

Pat will always be remembered for freely loving others and for inspiring us all to do the same.

A Mass is scheduled at our Savior Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, FL on February 28, 2015 at 10:30AM

I dealt with Paul the owner he was very helpful. He assisted in the forms and contacted a few people to help with my fathers passing. They are all very compassionate and caring. It is a nice atmosphere and very professional in how they run the business. They did not try to push me towards anything or any package. Paul was very professional and comforting in explaining the details of what was needed. Mike was very caring when they took my Husband out of VITAS Hospice. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
