Mary was born in Ellsworth,Kansas on May 29,1939 to George and Leota Veatch Zavesky.  She attended Kansas State university where she received her BS and Masters degree in Math Education.  Following her stint at teaching junior high math, she headed West.  She went to work at The Boeing company where they trained her in computing sciences.  Mary worked on various projects across the U.S. and moved to Washington D.C. in 1981 where she was to meet her future husband, John on a golf course.  She was the better golfer at the time.  They both loved golf and biking.
They subsequently relocated to Seattle where they retired from Boeing. They then divided their time between Leavenworth Washington in the Cascade mountains and Titusville Florida.
When they retired they were able to travel and play golf.
Mary volunteered at the Titusville Police  Department and the Brevard County Sheriff’s office where she did scanning, filing and data entry tasks for many years.
Mary is survived by her husband John, two nieces, Sarah Zavesky of Fresno, California and Christine Zavesky of Chicago, Illinois.  A brother, Tom predeceased her.  She has three step sons, John of Seattle Washington, Ward of Phoenix, Arizona and Norm of Boise, Idaho along with four grand children and one great grand son.
