Anne Hemenway, 75, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2016. She was born in Mobile, AL, on July 18, 1940 to Comer and Elizabeth Ousley, the youngest of seven children. She attended the University of Alabama. She later moved to Charlotte, NC, and worked as a property manager for The Ervin Company. Anne met Don Hemenway and they were married on January 25, 1974 in Fort Mill, SC. They moved to Atlanta, GA and Don established Hemenway Construction where Anne promoted herself to CEO, CFO, Chairman of the Board, Chief Operating Officer and Don’s boss. From Atlanta, Don and Anne semiretired and moved to Statesboro, GA, to spend time with  their children and grandchildren. They later decided to retire in Bluffton, SC where they spent twelve years enjoying their friends and community.  They recently made their final move to Cocoa Beach, FL, to be closer to Don’s family. After an unexpected illness, Anne passed in her sleep.

Anne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed walking on the beach, golfing, cooking, tennis, and much more. She was the heart and soul of the family. Anne never missed an opportunity to make new friends including everyone in her community, nail salon, meat market, golf course, bank, grocery store, farmer’s market, etc. Anne truly enjoyed her life to the fullest and will be missed by a wide circle of friends and family.

She is survived by Don, her loving husband of 42 years; her son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Candy Boyd of Apollo Beach, FL; her son, Ron Boyd of Yellow Bluff, GA; her son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Sue Hemenway of West Chester, PA; her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a service at Island Cremations and Funeral Home at 11AM on Saturday, July 9, 2016, with a calling hour from 10-11AM.  405 S Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32952.

Memorial donations may be made in Anne’s name to The American Diabetes Association.
