MANFRED M HEINRICH

March 28, 1944 - January 9, 2019

Manfred Heinrich, 74, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed from this life after battling a long illness. “Fred”, as his loved ones knew him, was a dedicated engineer who served America’s Space Program for 46 years. His long career began with Apollo and saw through the final launch of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011. He is survived by his loving wife Wendy, sons Rudi and Peter, Daughter in Law Liz, Mother in Law Teri, and Granddaughters Riva, Alyssa, and Madison. He will be mourned and missed by many friends and colleagues for whom he was a comrade, mentor and motivator. A good family friend said it best: “When we were in meetings and there was disagreement, we all will remember that ‘Fred Says’ was the maxim to be followed”. Words cannot express our sorrow. He cast a long shadow and good memories of him will fill the empty spaces in our hearts. Godspeed!

Fred - R.I.P. We appreciate Wendy & Your friendship over the years. Want to say thanks Fred for all you did quietly & unassuming for our Bayport Association. Only a few of us know, what you did as our resident volunteer Engineer. You will be missed, GOD Bless our friend. Rick & Mary Grace...

Fred, You are a unique individual who got things done. You had a passion for the Space Shuttle program and it's success. We need more individuals like you to challenge the status quo in order to make the great progress needed. The Shuttle Program would have been a different story without you. I am sorry to miss the event this Saturday and share great stories about you. God Speed Fred!
