Louise J. Favata

Cocoa, FL – Louise J. Favata, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Florida after a long illness.

Louise was born on May 28, 1944 in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of John and Viola DiCaprio. She graduated from Linton High School in 1963. Louise worked in the cosmetology field for many years.

Louise was married to the love of her life on February 16, 1964 for 49 ½ years before losing her husband on August 9, 2013.

Louise is survived by her cousin and best friend, Joan Elliott; her sister-in-law Kathi DiCaprio; nephew John DiCaprio; cousins Gail Elden and Lisa Karandy who considered Louise their second mom. She is also survived by cousins and many friends who loved her.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
