Louis “Lou” C. Rohde was born at home in Ambridge, PA. on July 22nd, 1932. His parents were George W. Rohde Sr. and Elvira Hue Rohde. He was married for 42 years to the love of his life, Barbara Mary Rohde, who predeceased him in 1998. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Chappell and Debbie Hagan (Allen), his sons, Doug Rohde (Kim) and Dan Rohde. Eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His daughter, Donna Wayno, predeceased him in 2023.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Louis was a Realtor/Broker Emeritus, and a member of Toastmasters.

He was a systems engineer in the aerospace industry and worked on many of the Apollo and Saturn missions.

Louis lived an amazing life. His children were all blessed to have him in their lives.

Services will be at the First United Methodist Church of Cocoa Beach, 3300 N. Atlantic Avenue on June 24, 2024 at 3:00 with a reception in the Church Hall Afterwards.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
