Our loving father Leonard Yost passed from this life peacefully early in the morning of Christmas Day 2017. He was born to Leonard and Ruby Yost on July 2, 1937. He was pre-deceased in death by his wife Janet.

Leonard, aka Lenny, Poppa and Pops was the proud father of five children, Diane Vitt (Herb), Teri Stuck (Don), Jim Yost (Jolene), Holly Yost, John Yost (Loni), 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Cleveland Ohio. Went to school in Garfield heights Ohio. He Served in the U S army overseas in Germany.

One of dad’s greatest enjoyments was having his whole family, near and far, come together.

Lenny had a lifelong hobby of auto racing and rebuilding and restoring old boats, cars and trucks. He liked to watch NASCAR racing and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He was a great father and loved all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. He also loved his dogs Layla and Blaze.

He will be sorely missed by all who loved him including close family and friends.

Our hearts are filled with loving memories in remembrance of the brave and beautiful man we called DAD.

Lenny will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.

We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
