Joseph A. Lofrisco 10/29/1939 – 6/02/2017

Joseph passed away at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida surrounded by his loving family. He fought a very hard battle with lung cancer and was still making people laugh. He was a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and most of all a wonderful husband. He leaves behind his best friend, soul mate, and wife Kimberly with whom he knew for 30 years. He had many jobs but his passion was creative writing – songs, playing keyboard and singing – he was a great entertainer. Joseph was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Vita and his first wife Carol. Joseph has 3 daughters Carmen (Doug) DeMarco, Patty (Charlie) Stone and Heather (Brandon) Prichard. He has 2 sons Christopher (Trisha) Payne and Brady (Evelyn) Buchanan. He has 12 grandchildren. Guilio, Nichole, Giovanni, Jayde, Cassandra, Leland, Brady Jr., Mickenzie, Christopher II, Haley, Jordan and Brayden. He has 3 great-grandchildren Maximus, Sophia and Ryan. Ryan was born the morning that Joseph passed and he was able to see a picture of him on his son-in-laws phone which got a big smile out of him. Joseph has several nieces, nephews and cousins. He has a brother Salvatore (Joan) Lofrisco and a special God-daughter Laura (Joe) Di Pasquantonio. Joseph will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. There will be a get together to celebrate Joseph’s life at a later date.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
