Jolene Boyte Grogan- age 86, born March 3, 1938 in Springfield TN peacefully passed away in her granddaughters home on December 13, 2024. Honoring her wishes, no services will be held. Jolene was the daughter of the late R.L. Boyte and Mary Davis Forester Boyte. Preceded in death by her siblings- Howard Boyte, Susie “Tootsie” Robertson, Mildred Bracey, Helen Coleman, Mary Traughber, and Dorothy Boyte.
Jolene had one daughter, Kimberly Reynolds (son in law Randy Reynolds), and 2 grandchildren- Paige Tyson (Garrett Tyson), and Ashley Oktar (Eddie Oktar), and 5 great grandchildren- Kaylee Tyson, Hadley Tyson, Ava Tyson, Carter Oktar and Harper Oktar.
Jolene owned and operated the Minit Mart in Lexington, KY for more than 40 years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, Spending time with her grandkids/great grandkids and most of all spending time with her Beloved best friend, Rodney Iwan.

Jolene will be missed and loved eternally. May she Rest in Peace with our Heavenly Father.

I dealt with Paul the owner he was very helpful. He assisted in the forms and contacted a few people to help with my fathers passing. They are all very compassionate and caring. It is a nice atmosphere and very professional in how they run the business. They did not try to push me towards anything or any package. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
