John William Klemundt, 74, of Indialantic, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, John carried his Midwestern roots with him throughout his life, along with a deep love for family, laughter, and simple joys.
John worked for many years as a Union Iron Worker, a career that reflected his strength, dedication, and pride in honest, hard work. Outside of work, he was drawn to the wonders of the world — fascinated by space, grounded by nature, and happiest near the water. He loved beach walks, swimming, bike riding, and most of all, walking his beloved dog Cosmo along the shoreline, his favorite “person” by his side.
John was known for his easy smile, quick humor, and the way he made people feel comfortable almost instantly. He was the kind of person you could talk to without effort — warm, open, and genuinely interested in others. This March, he would have celebrated 15 years of sobriety, a milestone that spoke to his strength, resilience, and commitment to living fully and honestly.
Above all, John loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Klemundt; his sons, Calvin Klemundt and Justin Raether; his daughter, Tracy Klemundt; and his grandchildren, Conan Klemundt, Jordan Littleton, Delilah Raether, and Gunnar Raether. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family in Chicago and Michigan, as well as old and new friends in Florida who remained close to his heart.
John’s legacy lives on in shared laughter, beachside memories, and the quiet moments of connection he so effortlessly created. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
