John Joseph White – May 23,1965 – June 18, 2021
John J White passed away suddenly on June 18, 2021 in Cape Canaveral Florida, with his
loving wife Gina by his side. John was born in New York, NY on May 23, 1965 and he was
raised in Yonkers, New York.
John is survived by his wife, Gina White; Daughter Gabrielle; Stepson Frank Rice; his parents
John(Jack) and Barbara of Cape Canaveral, Florida; his three sisters Teresa Morra and her
Husband, Anthony; Susan Conte and her Husband, Joe; and MaryEllen Glennon and her
Husband, Steven. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, family and life long friends.
John graduated from Lincoln High School and then started his career as an engineer with the
MetroNorth Railroad. Following retirement, he resided in Florida. John had a love for life and he
was overly generous and extremely friendly to everyone he met. Once you met him, he was
never forgotten. John was an animal lover. He loved to travel, especially to Key West. John also
loved to socialize and cook. He touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, big smile and
laugh. He will be greatly missed.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
