John James Donohue Jr. (Jack) was born April 8, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA and passed away on November 5, 2023 at the age of 82 in Palm Bay, FL. He lived in his family’s row house on Adams Avenue from birth until he joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17. His 20 plus year military career moved him to many places, including Texas, Wyoming, Alaska, California, Indiana, Vietnam, New Jersey, Greenland, Florida, Washington D.C., Belgium and Colorado. When asked which was the worst and which was the best assignment, he said that he actually liked something about all of them. He worked at the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon, SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) and as direct support for a General in Vietnam. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College, reached the rank of Master Sargeant and settled in Littleton, Colorado for over 30 years before becoming a snowbird and eventually settling in Rockledge, Florida for the past 11 years.

In 1960 he married Connie Lorraine Barrett in Littleton, Colorado and together they raised John James Donohue III, born in 1962, and Theresa Marie Donohue (Levenson), born in 1967. He was very proud of his children and grandsons Michael John Levenson and Anthony Michael Levenson.

Throughout the years Jack had many part time jobs in addition to his day job. He did this because he was such a great provider for his family and it gave him an opportunity to meet and talk with people, which was one of his favorite pastimes. These jobs were as a bartender at the Air Force Officer’s Clubs, Sears customer service and pumping gas at full service gas stations. After retiring from the Air Force he worked in the corporate world at a few companies in management roles and eventually worked part time for fun as a Blackjack Dealer in Blackhawk, CO and for private parties. His favorite yearly party was for the Denver Broncos. He loved telling stories about getting to work at Mike Shanahan’s house and how he dealt blackjack to so many players and their wives over the years. He also enjoyed being an usher at Coors Field where he got to watch the Rockies games for free while getting paid. His section was right behind home plate and he became friends with many of the season ticket holders that he saw on a regular basis.

Jack was a big sports fan, with the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets being the teams that he cheered on the most. Jack and Connie were long time season ticket holders of the Broncos. He also loved cars and could identify the year and make of most antique cars.
He was adventuresome and enjoyed traveling to many places in the world including most of Western Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his father John J. Donohue Sr., mother Ethel C. Donohue (Marshall) and brother James Joseph Donohue.

Because he had so many friends and family in multiple places there will be a virtual celebration of life at a date to be determined. He will later have a military service at his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.
