Jerry G. Everhart 68, of Rockledge went home to be with our Lord Friday, August 8, 2014; he was born in La Plata, Maryland, July 21, 1946.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 34 years Sandra and his son Jason Everhart of Maryland and his two daughters Jaime Oliff and Jessica Celeste Futrell both from Florida.

Jerry leaves behind five cherished grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Alma Agnes Hardesty and Horner B. Everhart. Jerry is also survived by seven siblings, Joyce Hatch of CA; Tim Everhart of AZ; Linda Zoller of CA; Rex Everhart of MD; Roy Everhart of CA; David Everhart of FL and Jan Walker of MD.

Jerry attended a computer technical college in Maryland after which he joined the Air Force for eight years. He also worked with the USGS in Saudi Arabia for seven years. He also worked 16 years at the Cape in the Space Program. Jerry will live on in our hearts as everyone loved him,

In lieu of flowers Jerry would be honored for you to make a donation to the Grace Fellowship Food Pantry, 3420 Murrell Road, Rockledge, FL 32955. Tentative arrangements are 11:00 AM Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Grace Fellowship Church.

I dealt with Paul the owner he was very helpful. He assisted in the forms and contacted a few people to help with my fathers passing. They are all very compassionate and caring. It is a nice atmosphere and very professional in how they run the business. They did not try to push me towards anything or any package. Paul was very professional and comforting in explaining the details of what was needed. Mike was very caring when they took my Husband out of VITAS Hospice. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
