Jerrold (Jerry) Gregory Holliday, 76, of Satellite Beach, Florida passed away December 9,2023. Born October 4, 1947 in Ft. Benning, Georgia Military Hospital. His parents were Loris George Holliday and Bessie Catherine Holliday. Loris was career military. Both parents spent some time as school teachers. He had six brothers and sisters and was the last survivor of the Holliday children.

Jerry was stationed in Korea’s Demilitarized Zone during the Vietnam era.. He ended his career there as a drill sergeant. After the Army, he returned to Columbus University where he graduated with a BA in political science.

He started working for the US Department of Health, Education and Welfare in various capacities. That is where he met his wife Pat and they were married for almost 46 years. They had one daughter, Lauralee Holliday Perryman, who was the apple of her Dad’s eye. He is survived by his granddaughter, Reagan Moon Butler, and grandson, Memphis Hunter Butler. He is also survived by his cats, Marvin and Hazel.

Jerry spent most of his working career for the Department of Health and Human Services in the Office for Civil Rights. In addition to investigating racial discrimination, the office also investigated handicapped accessibility issues. Jerry was very conscientious about this and Pat often complained that they couldn’t go anywhere without him verifying the restrooms were in compliance.

Jerry was a good man, son, husband, brother, uncle, friend and great father. Even though Alzheimer’s took his memory, he never forgot how to love. Love never forgets.
