Jackie “Jack” Pitt (74) passed away Monday, January 30th in Melbourne Florida while surrounded by his family. Jack was born December 29, 1948, in Jacksonville Florida to Herbert and Margaret (Mishoe) Pitt. He was the 6th of 7 children consisting of 4 boys and 3 girls. Jack was predeceased by parents Herbert and Margaret Pitt, Sisters Betty Thomsen and Clara Ortiz, Brothers Frank, Delano and William Earl Pitt. He was widowed by the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Debbie Pitt (2016). He is survived by his Sister Anita Perez, Daughter Rachel Arieux and Son Chris Pitt, Son-in-law Ryan Arieux, Grandchildren Skyla Murray and Hayden Arieux, as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Jack was a long-time resident of Brevard County where he resided with his family. He lived in Cape Canaveral for over 40 years and most recently had moved to Merritt Island. Jack worked in Construction most of his life and had an early retirement due to injury at 50. His passions included fishing, watching his favorite wrestling programs in person or on TV and spending time with his family. Jack loved Rock-n-Roll. His favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd, not only for their music, but also because he went to high school with them in Jacksonville. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. His family was his entire life. He will be sorely missed by so many friends and family for he was known for being an all-around humble guy full of appreciation for the little things in life. His smile was contagious, and his stories were enjoyed by many.
