Irene R. Sikorski of Titusville, FL (previously of Old Bridge, NJ), passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022, at the age of 91.
Irene was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY to Joseph & Blanche Krause. She met and married her husband Karol in 1952, and together they raised four children – Deborah, Kenneth, Donald, and Robert.
She was very active in her church, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Old Bridge, NJ, where she was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Alter Rosary Society, and also of the St. Thomas Seniors. She hand-crocheted and donated many afghan blankets to the church ministry as well. Other than loving on her family and friends, she loved travelling, and cooking Polish cuisine specialties.
Her family takes comfort that she is free of any worldly pain, and is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, and two sons who had passed before her. She is survived by her daughter Deborah, son Kenneth (Linda), daughter-in-law Kristen, and five grandchildren – Tara, Rose, Amber, James, and Nicholas.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
