Gerald ‘Jerry’ Wyles Sr.Merritt Island, FLGerald ‘Jerry’ Ray Wyles, Sr., 81, of Merritt Island, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Jerry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn S. Wyles; three daughters, Pamela Mendoza of Titusville, Fl, Teresa Marfitt of Cocoa, Fl, and Dana Whitlock of Merritt Island; son, Gerald R. Wyles, Jr. of Merritt Island; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Eual; sister, Delores, both of TX; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death both parents and sister, Geneva. Jerry was a veteran of the USAF for four years. He retired from NASA where he was involved and a vital part of the Apollo Space Program as well as the Shuttle Space Program, and he is honorably mentioned on the monuments located in ‘Space Park’ in Titusville, FL.Jerry was also the owner (with his wife) of Coastal Septic Services of Cocoa, and former owner and builder of Sandalwood Homes; he built over 250 homes in the Port St. John area, and other homes throughout Brevard County. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and boating enthusiast. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Humane Society, 1020 Cox Rd., Cocoa, Fl 32926. There will be a “Celebration of Life”at the Moose Lodge, 3150 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, Saturday, July 19th at 2 p.m. 321- 452-8383 for directions.
