Fernando Teran, 86, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Viera Hospital with his family by his side.
Fernando was born on May 22 1936, in Bogota Colombia. On July 2,1960 he married his sweetheart, Luz. In 1970 they made the most difficult decision of their lives and moved the family to the United States in order to give them the means of pursuing new opportunities. They raised three boys and a daughter on Long Island N.Y. He was blessed with grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends that he loved to spend time with. He will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jorge and Lucila and his sisters Leonor, Maria Victoria and Marta.
He will be remembered always by the ones he leaves behind, his wife of 62 years, Luz, his children Fernando (Pam), Andres (Anne), Luis(Eileen), María (Jeff) Flack. He will be forever in the hearts of his grandchildren Michael(Cherish), Stephanie, Andrew(Ariel), Samantha (Matt) Pagan, Logan, Jason and Kyle, his great grandchildren Ethan, Liam, Arya and Carson.
He will be missed by his brothers Jorge and Jairo, his sister Blanca, along with many other family and friends

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
