Eva Joyce Crawford Farley, 81 yrs old passed away after
a 2 year battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her
beloved husband of 30 years Col. John C. Farley (Ret.),
daughters; Darlen Crawford Easum (Tom), Marlen
Crawford Creason and one son, Ronald Crawford who
predeceased her. Stepsons; John Farley (Stephanie),
Andrew Farley (Dobie) and the late Phillip Farley
(Tamma). Eva was loved by her many Grand and Great
grandchildren.
Born in Wealty, Oklahoma, Eva attended high school in
Okemah Oklahoma. She received a B.S. in Mathematics
and a Master’s i Educatio fro East Central State
University with post graduate studies completed at
Oklahoa State Uiversity. She also received her pilot’s
license in 1977. She taught Aerospace/Aviation courses
and Mathematics at Bowlegs and Prague high schools,
then went to Seoul, South Korea for the Dept. of
Defense Dependent Schools to teach math and science
for several years. Special awards have included NASA
Teacher in Space Finalist, Pacific Region, Oklahoma
Aerospace Teacher of the Year, and Seminole County
(Oklahoma) Teacher of the Year. When her husband
Jack retired from the Army in 1988 they moved to
Merritt Island, Florida where she became employed as
an Aerospace Education Specialist for NASA in their
Space Mobile program. Eva worked with all age groups
from kindergarten to collage age teaching them the
wonders of space travel. She also conducted Aerospace
Education Workshops for teachers in Florida, Georgia,
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
After Eva retired, she and Jack toured the world
together, it was hard to find them home as they were
always finding a new and exciting tour to go on.
