Ernest “Ernie” John Petrocelli II, of Cocoa, FL died one day shy of 57th birthday on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Ernie passed away at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was born June 18, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii and lived throughout the world as a child of an Air Force Officer. Ernie graduated from East High School in Cheyenne, WY. Most of his adult life was spent in Florida. He loved his wife Diane and family. He worked hard all of his life as a “Tile Mechanic” creating beautiful tile work throughout Brevard County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest John and Rose Benavidez Petrocelli. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Petrocelli of Cocoa, daughter Jackqueline Petrocelli and Tim Walton of Rockledge, son Roger & wife Stacey Petrocelli of Merritt Island, son Derek Petrocelli of South FL; step-children – Justin Morey of Southern CA, Ashley Morey and Thomas Hardin of Cocoa, Anna & husband RJ Huss of Dade City; siblings – Jesse Petrocelli of Colorado Springs, CO, Mark Petrocelli of Cheyenne, WY and Debra Ramsey of Prescott Valley, AZ; 9 grand children – Maddie Rose Petrocelli, Kyle See, Chloe Dowell, Josh Alexander, T.J., Jaedyn Walton, Marcus Petrocelli, Damian Petrocelli and Ava Hardin.

Services and Celebration of Life will be held at 6pm on Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Board of Realtors, 105 McLeod Road, 2nd floor, Merritt Island, FL.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
