Edward was born on June 5, 1929 in San Francisco, California to parents Edward Lawlor and Emma Seabury (Lawlor). He was 91 when he passed away on January 16, 2021 in Cocoa, Florida surrounded by his family.
Joseph and Marie Urbanski in Honolulu, Hawaii adopted Edward at the age of 4. He was raised in Hawaii, and in 1941 at the age of 12 Edward and his adoptive family survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
Edward enlisted into the United States Army in 1946 and was stationed in Korea, Japan, Austria, and Texas. In 1952, while in the army, Edward married Leta Joyce McElroy and had 2 children – Michael James and Victoria Ann. He was honorably discharged in 1955 with the rank of Tech Corporal.
After the Army Edward and his family settled in Dallas, Texas where he worked at Mobil Oil and LTV as a Technical Writer/Illustrator.
In 1971 Edward and Leta were divorced. He Moved to Gun Barrel City, Texas and began a career at Curtis Mathis where he met his second wife Lola Lasater. They were married in 1973. Edward and Lola volunteered much of their time at the VFW, and in 1979 he was elected commander of Post 4133 in Trinidad. He continued working until he retired in 1993 at the age of 64. After his retirement Edward and Lola traveled in their motor home to different parts of the country visiting family and friends. Edward enjoyed making woodcrafts for holiday decorations, and he had a love for model trains. He even built a complete small town train layout in their family room, which included buildings, trees and landscaping.
Edward was survived by his sister Ellie Lawlor, his daughter Victoria Ann Rich and her spouse David Rich; stepson James Eugene Lasater; Step-Daughters Glaudia (Lasater) Lee and Glenda (Lasater) Dashofy; and several nieces; nephews; grandchildren; great grandchildren and numerous beloved extended family and friends.
Edward was predeceased by sister Adelaide Marie (Urbanski) Adams, first wife Leta Joyce Shaffer, second wife Lola Urbanski, son Michael James Urbanski, and stepson Keith Lasater.
We will dearly miss Edward who held several titles: Husband – Daddy – Step-Dad – Granddad – Uncle Eddie.
