Edward C. Walters, Jr. (Eddy), age 75, much loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born in Sandersville, GA on December 19, 1942, the oldest of 5 children. He survived by his wife of 29 years, Laura, 2 sons, Troy Walters and Spence Faucher, 3 grandchildren Seth Walters, Josh Walters, Sophia Faucher, 3 sisters and 1 deceased brother.

He graduated from Melbourne High School and was proud to serve in the United States Army. He retired from KSC in 2001 as manager of Central Warehouse for United Space Alliance.

As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the woods of Georgia with his father, Edward Sr., and also enjoyed snook fishing locally. He leaves behind his much loved cats, Smoky and Maggie.

It was not unusual to see Eddy driving down Courtenay in his bright blue Mustang, heading for lunch at Hooter’s with the guys. He was a great friend to many and he and Laura threw the best gatherings in town on their pool deck, sharing a Dewar’s with his friends.

We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
