Dorothy B. Bonner, 89, passed away peacefully on November 14^th, 2018.

Dorothy was born on April 5, 1929 in Manchester, NH the only child of the late Joseph and Martha (Simon) Van Moortel.

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years William J. Bonner who passed away in 2009.

She is survived by her five daughters and their spouses; Deborah and Dennis Ouellette, Kathy and Richard Plante, Stacey Powers, Jodi and Tim Dawson, Robin and Joe Donovan. She had 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

New Hampshire is where Dorothy grew up and met her husband and raised her family. She enjoyed her summers at Baboosic Lake and winters in Florida where she eventually retired with her husband 27 years ago.

Dorothy enjoyed dancing, socializing and playing cards.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Hampshire.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
