Denise Alaine Weiser Hatfield
(April 17, 1957 – May 17, 2021)

Mrs. Denise Weiser Hatfield, age 64, of Merritt Island, FL and formally of Canton, Ohio died May 17, 2021 after a valiant battle with COPD. She was at her residence surrounded by her family when she went to be with Our Savior.
Denise enjoyed many activities including The US Space Program in which she was employed for a short time, golf, boating, and her Kentucky Wildcats. Most of all Denise enjoyed and loved time and any activity with her family.
Denise is survived by her husband, Walter Hatfield of Merritt Island, FL; a daughter, Tara Weiser of Chattanooga, TN; a son, William Weiser of Merritt Island, FL; and two stepsons, Sonny Hatfield and Jonathan (Kristen) Hatfield of Greenwell Springs, LA. Denise also is survived by her pride and joy grandchildren; Brandon Weiser, Breanna Weiser, Alex Weiser, and Eli Hatfield.
Additionally, Denise is survived by three brothers (Len, Sam, and Pat Hawthorne) and many nieces and nephews.
Denise was preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Weiser; her parents, William and Mary Hawthorne; and two sisters (Linda Schwitzgebel and Rose Mitchel); two brothers (Dennis and Danny Hawthorne); and one sister-in-law (Doris Hawthorne).

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
