DAVID “HARPO” HART
David “Harpo” Hart, 72, died at his home in Cape Canaveral on August 20, 2019.
David was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 6, 1946. In 1980, David moved
to Brevard County, FL and was working for a longtime friend from Pittsburgh, Kirk Warner,
installing carpet. Through this friendship, he met Marty Robinette and a host of loving
friends that he considered family that has endured for 39 years.
David and Marty had a successful brick and tile business (D & M Tile) which he started
with his very good friend, Michael Cravens in the eighties, and then went on to share
ownership with Marty in their pest control company, Marty the Bug Lady.
David was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate
spirit and will be greatly missed.
Being from Pittsburgh, David was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. (He
wouldn’t let Marty wash the Pittsburgh “terrible towel” he had for years – said it was bad luck.)
David loved his music – mostly Bob Marley, BB King & rhythm and blues.
David was very artistic and crafty. His family and friends enjoyed the many paintings he
Created that adorned the walls of he and Marty’s home which were mostly beach themed.
The painting of the Jamaica women on the beach was probably the most loved.
David loved the ocean. He called the beach crossover “his office”. If you told friends that David
was at the office, they knew he was at the beach.
He made many dream catchers, whittled walking sticks, made souvenirs out of pieces of
driftwood and shells that he found on the beach. He had a great imagination and knew how
to express it through his art.
David loved and was very proud of his son, David, who joined the family business after his Dad
retired. He also loved and was very proud of his grandson, Brandon, who has just recently joined
the Air Force. These two guys meant the world to “Pops”.
David is survived by the love of his life, Marty Robinette, his loving and devoted son,
David Hart (Dawn) grandson Brandon (Kaitlynn), his uncle Charles “Butch” Hart (Bobbi), his
uncle Melvin George, and many other family and friends who were all loved by David.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Seaman, his niece, Leslie, his mother Helen
Giachino, his grandmother Alice Hart and grandfather Charles Hart, brother-in-law Bob
Robinette and, most recently, his precious nephew Kyle Robinette.
