Dana Quentin Haughwout, 85, of Cocoa Beach, FL and Staten Island, NY, died on Friday May 3^rd, 2019 at his residence in Cocoa Beach, FL. Dana was a native Staten Islander and a retired New York City police officer. Dana also served with the United States Army Reserve.

Dana Haughwout was predeceased by his wife Nell Haughwout and survived by his three children, Richard Haughwout, Karen Pfeiffer, and Debra Pullum and her husband James Pullum. Dana is also survived by six grandchildren, Carly, J.C., Melissa, Craig, Alura, Trevor, and two great grandchildren, Mason and Kylie.

Dana enjoyed going to church every Sunday. He also enjoyed taking his scooter over to McDonalds for coffee and to meet up with friends. He loved keeping up with the stock market. Dana loved going out to dinner Friday nights with his siblings, which meant so much to him. Dana has touched so many lives in different ways and will be greatly missed by all of us.

I dealt with Paul the owner he was very helpful. He assisted in the forms and contacted a few people to help with my fathers passing. They are all very compassionate and caring. My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We just had a wonderful experience at Island cremation with my father-in-law’s funeral. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
