Dan was the BEST boss I ever had. He loved his children. He loved his wife. And he loved his Marines. He was smart and funny and had a great laugh. He was a great leader and person. He kept all his second lieutenants in Okinawa when he was a battery commander. The regiment offered him a first lieutenant as his executive officer if he would volunteer to give up one of us. He took a risk and kept all of us so we would gain experience in the artillery field. God bless.
