Dale Eugene Johnson, 85, of Rockledge, passed away peacefully on Friday February 26, 2021, at his assisted living facility, Avante at Melbourne. Dale was born December 8, 1935 in Steelton, PA, to the late Hocker and Grace (Heller) Johnson. Dale was a graduate of John P. Harris High School in Harrisburg, PA. After graduating, Dale worked as a delivery boy for a local floral shop. Dale was a SeaBee in the U.S. Navy. He then went on to work at IBM for 28 years as a Parts Planner. After retiring from IBM, Dale and his wife Dorothy moved to Rockledge Florida to live out the rest of their lives. While in Florida, they began their own courier business. They did that for the next 12 years until they finally decided to retire permanently. Dale was a member of the VFW Post 4534 in Rockledge, FL. He liked playing darts with the locals and having a great time. Dale enjoyed playing solitaire on his computer, traveling and of course his chocolate. Dale especially enjoyed spending time with his family and good friends. Dale is survived by his wife Dorothy May (Myers) Johnson, his brother Richard Johnson, his late sister Lois Johnson, his son Dale E. Johnson, his daughter Julie Shields and son-in-law Kevin Shields, along with Dorothy’s children, son Duane Renaut, daughter Denise Carroll (Don), son Daniel Renaut, son Dean Renaut (Karen), son Daryle Renaut (Donna), daughter Dawn Renaut, daughter Dana Alexander. He is also survived by 11 grandkids and 5 great grandchildren.
