Burndenia Emily Spiegelberg peacefully passed away in the loving care of Huntington Place nursing home in Rockledge, FL on April 3, 2016 at the age of 93.

Burndenia was born in Clay County, WV on February 13, 1923 to parents Porter Barnes and Eva Friend, as the oldest of 7 children. She grew to be a wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent most of her life as a waitress in restaurants from Baltimore, MD to Miami Beach, FL. She made medical history in 1962 due to a number of cancer’s, all requiring surgery, at the same time she was to deliver her youngest of 3 children. She was an avid baker and loved to cook. She was also a fan of horse racing.
Burndenia is survived by brothers Cecil Barnes and Arling Barnes, sisters Elsie Litton and Chloe Mays, children Kathryn Guest, Linda Sweet and Gary Sweet, grandchildren Shane Sweet, Traci Mullen and David Guest Jr, great grandchildren Emily Anderson and Matthew Mullen and 16 nieces and nephews.
Burndenia is preceded in death by parents Porter Barnes and Eva Friend, brother Ronald Barnes, sister Pearl Barnes and late, first and second husband’s, Garner Sweet and Elmer Spiegelberg.
Burndenia’s cremation will take place on April 7, 2016. A celebration of life will be held on April 24, 2016 from 2pm-6pm in Orlando, FL, which will be open to all family and friends that would like to attend. Address is available upon request through granddaughter, Traci Mullen, at 321-216-6474.
