Memorial Service will be at held Saturday, May 22,
2021 at 11am in the Chapel at First Baptist Church
Baptist Church Merritt Island, FL 32952.

Please join us afterwards in the Magnolia Room from
12:30 to 1:00 pm.

COCOA, FL – Bobbie Jean Newbury, 74 passed away
March 30, 2021 at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Merritt
Island, FL. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn
Renee Newbury and Traci Newbury Sasko (Jason) of
Cocoa & brother Thomas W. Branch (Wanda) of
Hiawassee, GA. She was predeceased by husband
William E. Newbury and parents James T. & Opalene.
Branch, and several relatives. She was a member
of Merritt Island First Baptist Church, FL. Bobbie
Graduated from Cocoa High School 1964. She was
active in Chorus in HS.

Bobbie worked as a Cashier at Walmart in Titusville, FL.
She worked previously in Banking & Brinks. She loved
planting flowers and roses were a favorite. She loved
her family, music and reading the Bible.

My husband was an Army Veteran and they draped him with the American Flag as they were removing him from VITAS Hospice. We had three meetings before the ceremony even started to make sure that everything was going to be done properly and that we’re all on the same page. Island cremation arranged for the Marines to come and do a flag honor ceremony that was an excellent touch and made the whole ceremony very memorable. The funeral home was very clean and they even had masks and hand sanitizer set out. They helped setting up our food plus supplied some of their own. Very professional and highly recommended.

I had a Celebration of Life for my husband on his birthday last Friday.

Island Cremations helped me plan for the Funeral. They have been like family. I even brought my husband’s miniature poodle.

Dillon, Mike & Dawn helped me set up and clean up. We brought in food and drinks. I had a soft jazz CD playing in the rooms. The alter had my husband’s Dolphin Urn and flowers. His picture with him holding a 52 pound Dolphin was on a projector screen above the alter.

Pastor Babington did a wonderful sermon. The family & friends spoke of memorial times.

We all thank you for your kindness and warmth for this Celebration of Life for my husband.
